Exfoliating Peels have been used for a long time to create an even and controlled shedding
of damaged skin cells. The effect is a kind of ‘spring cleaning’ for your skin.
It rejuvenates the skin, tightens it, reduces wrinkling and restores more youthful
appearance.
How it works
Glycolic AHA acids exfoliate
and stimulate the epidermal skin layers. This is a naturally occurring acid, derived
from sugar cane plants. Glycolic acid has the smallest molecular size and weight
of all the AHA’s and thus, can penetrate deeper and more effectively through the
layers of the skin than any other AHA. The acid works at the base of the Stratum
Corneum (upper layer of skin), dissolving the “glue” that holds these dead skin
cells together. This process increases cellular turnover and improves the overall
structure with a more uniform and normalized Stratum Corneum being created. Smoother,
softer, skin with the lessening of fine lines and discoloration is observed, with
the added benefit of reducing follicular debris and blockage.
Who is suitable
Glytone
peels
can help to effectively improve a wide variety of skin conditions including:
- Fine lines
and wrinkles
- Sun damaged
skin
- Brown spots
- Acne
- Freckling
- Hyper-pigmentation
- Age spots
- Blackheads
Procedure
Glycolic acid
“peels” will not necessarily induce an actual peel. The Glycolic acid preparation
will be applied to the face for an indicated time, i.e. 2 minutes, and then thoroughly
removed with water and a post peel neutralizer. The
entire procedure usually takes only 10 to 15 minutes.
